My bass and drum tracks are just MIDI notes that I build with Reaper's piano roll.
Maybe it has some interesting presets (like drums, piano, bass) in which case I just have to chose that "bass" preset to play bass with my piano roll's built MIDI track ? But in that page they say it has problems with MIDI. As a plugin, I insert the desired instrument (one of those 4) into my track. I just have to click once to get to the desired instrument page.
Just for you to know, the Cakewalk's Studio Instruments has 4 kinds of sounds: drums, bass, piano and strings. Is Cakewalk's Studio Instruments (that I currently use) a sample or a synthesized product ?Īs I told you, I know nothing about synth programming so in either case, the product should be ready to give me drums and bass sounds at least and preferably in addition some other cool sounds like strings and other instruments (piano, percussion, sax, horns, etc.).
